Waterloo guitars, an off shoot from Collings guitars, is the ultimate celebration of the classic "catalog" guitars from the 20's and 30's. Back in the days the budget catalog model guitars were meant to get as many guitars into the hands of the masses back in the early days of the guitars rise to popularity.
Waterloo takes the basic framework of those guitars and works out some of the details that really held them back and creates a whole new creation of wonderful acoustic instruments.
Full-bodied in both tone and stature, the aptly nicknamed "Jumbo King” is the largest size offering in the Waterloo line and a modern day tribute to jumbo-sized guitars of the early 1940s. Originally manufactured by Regal for the mail-order enterprise Montgomery Ward, this slope-shoulder body size was designed to provide performers of the era with enough volume and power for professional radio work. The WL-JK accomplishes this and more by employing a full five-inch body depth and a slightly narrow waist to enhance both the bass and treble response.
The WL-JK features vintage inspired x-bracing and a prominent v-shaped neck with fully adjustable truss rod.
This guitar is in stunning condition and shows barely any signs of use aside from some light pickwear on and around the pickguard.
