2018 was a year of refinement for Martin Guitars, particularly in the their standard line. Their most celebrated models got small additions that have been wildly popular such as revisions to bracing and yellowing of the binding. The HD-28 has two major distinctions from its sibling the D-28, the easiest to spot is the herringbone trim and beneatch the hood the scalloped X-brace that Martin is famous for gets forward shifted to add a bit of bass response.
The dreadnought is the ultimate icon of acoustic guitar and one of Martin's many contributions to the guitar community. The dreadnought gave guitar players the opportunity to hold their own with other instruments such as the banjo. This particular HD-28 does not dissapoint with its volume, projection and wonderful balance from string to string.
It features all solid woods (Sitka Spruce Top and Indian Rosewood Back and Sides), Ebony fingerboard and bridge, modified low-oval profile neck, 16" radius fingerboard, nickel open gear tuner, 25.4" scale and 1.75" nut width.
