2003 National Model 97 Tricone Resonator Surfer Girl
Since 1927 National Guitars has been creating some of the most unique acoustic instruments. Originally designed in the era of the big band and the banjo, the Resonator guitar offered the opportunity to compete volume wise with other instruments. Electric guitars came along soon after and were the clear alternative for guitar players looking to add volume. But National had already left its mark in guitar history, the resonator has gone on to become its own school within the acoustic guitar community.
This Model 97 is something to behold. Serial number 19 of approximately 40 made in the 30 years since the company was reformed in 1989. This instrument is even more rare due to the fact that the painted "Surfer Girl" is no longer offered by National. This has been well kept by the original owner. A mirror-like finish on the entire body just like it shipped out of the factory yesterday. Comes with original hardshell case.
