1996-1997 Fender Danny Gatton Signature Telecaster
Danny Gatton is among a group of players that is so associated with a Tele that many elements of their style and technique are built around the controls and setup of the Telecaster. This signature model was an expression of that love of the instrument and the ability to overcome a few of the kinks experienced with vintage Telecasters.
To Gatton's specifications the birdseye maple neck has cubic zirconium side dots that light up even on the darkest stages. The bridge has a small area removed to clear the fences for picking. The guitar features a trio of Joe Barden pickups, another piece of gear that is so associated with Danny that they just always go hand in hand (the third pickup was added aftermarket at the Fender Factory to the original owners request: these usually come with dual pickups). It has a 5 way selector switch to accomdate the pickup that was not original but added during the pickup add. The Gatton model has an additional fret not found on vintage 50's Fenders.
The body is Frost Gold, similar to the one Danny can be seen playing on Austin City Limits. The birdseye maple neck is stunning. Many of the features are similar to a vintage Tele: single ply pickguard, brass sadles, 25.5" scale, volume and tone control and a 7.25" radius.
Cosmetically, the guitar is in stunning shape. No major blemishes, nicks, dings or dents. It has subtle play wear on and around the pickguard. It includes the original G&G tweed hardshell case and case candy.
