1987 Ovation 1717 Legend
What better way to celebrate our Connecticut heritage than with a vintage Ovation guitar! In 1982 the brand was in its prime, making a name for themselves as the de facto acoustic/electric guitar that was road worthy and not nearly as cumbersome as their all solid wood competitors. Attracting a variety of artists such as Al Di Meola and Glenn Campbell.
This example is a model "1717" and was a mid level offering that includes an piezo style saddle pickup, black molded back, solid spruce top and some small cosmetic accents and a nice rosette. It includes the original hard shell case. This is a non-cutaway model.
Cosmetically its in good shape, it has some checking in the finish and some small cosmetic dings throughout. No structural issues or any problems. The frets were leveled and dressed in the shop and are like new with nearly full height remaining. It is setup with light gauge strings and is ready for years of enjoyment!
