The Country Gentleman is one of Gretsch's most classic and revered models throughout their catalog of guitars. This model "6122" was made in the year 1965 and has a ton of classic Gretsch tone and vibe and has excellent playability and is structurally sound. This era of the Country Gentleman model boasts some of the most sought after Gretsch pickups and electronics featuring original Filter'tron and Super'tron humbuckers. Other features of this '65 Country Gentleman include a walnut stained maple body, gold plated hardware and Bigsby vibrato tailpiece, double mutes, Gretsch's quirky painted "f-holes", structurally intact body, neck and headstock binding, and original "Imperial" Grover tuners. This 6122 is in excellent condition particularly considering its age, but it shows some normal wear and has some scattered dings and scratches and oxidation to the gold plating and hardware. This guitar has had a very minor hairline headstock fracture that has been professionally repaired and is barely noticeable to the eye as highlighted in the last photo. With the exception of its pickguard this Country Gentleman is all original. The original pickguard will be included, but it is cracked. Purchase of this guitar includes its original hard shell case which is in excellent condition and for the collector it includes its original case candy and hang tags.
